Holiday Found - "It is always hard to be away from home and family over the holidays and it is particularly traumatic, if you’re American, to be away from home at Thanksgiving.  The thought of not having Mom’s turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie is almost too sad to bear…. However, that potential sadness was completely wiped away and replaced with total euphoria when I and my displaced American friends found our “homemade” Thanksgiving dinner.  We found this harvest feast at the Oak Restaurant.  We were treated to the most authentic Turkey Day dinner I’ve ever experienced outside the colonies.  We started with the pumpkin soup which was indescribably delicious – smooth as velvet and spiced to perfection.  This was followed by moist, cooked by a pro turkey, fabulous bread stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce that would’ve impressed even Mom.  The meal was served hot and beautifully presented on the plate…. Talk about fabulous.  Even though we were already suffering from a food coma, we weren’t too comatose to enjoy the light as air chocolate soufflé and the vanilla ice cream.  Pair this with a beautifully complimented wine and NO dishes at the end of it all and I am convinced that I just experienced the perfect Thanksgiving! "

October 2008 - "My apologies for taking so long to write to thank you and Anil and all involved in making the lunch party on 27th September such a success. Over the last week we have had a considerable number of letters,  phone calls and other messages from those who came indicating their appreciation for the food and the way it was presented in a relaxed atmosphere with good response to their individual needs.  Quite a few who live near enough have said that they will be revisiting the Oak. We are glad that, as the original venue became unavailable, we were able, at relatively short notice, to find a better alternative which gave us all we were looking for. We were not disappointed! Despite the restaurant being surprisingly empty for a Saturday night the food was fantastic (with the canapes and amuse bouche being very welcome extras), the service very good, the decor/facilities stylish and the bill surprisingly low for the quality of meal we'd had.
